What are the Requirements for ATM Installation?

01

Power Supply

Whenever you start an ATM business, always keep in mind that every ATM needs a standard 110V grounded electrical outlet nearby, ideally within 6 feet of the machine. The outlet must be on a stable circuit to prevent power fluctuations, which could disrupt transactions or damage internal components over time.

02

Internet Connectivity

Your facility also needs to have a proper internet connection, either:

  • Broadband (Ethernet)
  • Cellular/wireless modem

This is needed to process transactions in real time.

03

Compliant Physical Location

Your placement site should always meet Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines, including enough aisle clearance and accessible height requirements. If you have indoor units, the space must be secure, well-lit, and accessible to users without creating any kind of safety concern.

04

Business & Operator Compliance

During the ATM machine installation, you also need to know that your operators in the U.S. must be registered or affiliated with a licensed Independent Sales Organization. With us being a registered ISO, we ensure all our clients stay fully compliant from day one.

Ready to get started?

Our team handles everything from installation to compliance, so your machine works hard while you focus on your business.

Our ATM Installation Process

Doing Site Survey & Pre-Installation Assessment

For FI ATM installations, before anything is moved or mounted, a certified technician will evaluate the physical location. This includes:

  • Checking size/ space requirements
  • Checking power availability
  • Network connectivity
  • ADA compliance
  • Foot traffic flow
  • Security suitability

Delivering the Equipment & Staging

Once the site is cleared, we deliver and stage your ATM unit. The machine is inspected for transit damage, all components are verified, and all hardware is confirmed against the order. This ensures that the unit arriving at your location is exactly what was specified. No surprises or delays!

 Connecting With Network & Power

Your unit is then connected to the designated power supply and network source, which can be:

  • Ethernet
  • Cellular modem

Our technician performs a full connectivity test to confirm stable communication between the ATM and the processing network before any transaction testing begins.

Software Configuration & Processor Setup

The ATM’s operating software is configured to your specifications, like:

  • Surcharge amounts
  • Screen branding
  • Receipt settings
  • Language preferences

The machine is registered and activated through your ATM processing network. As an experienced ATM processing company, we handle this end-to-end as part of our installation service.

Testing the Transactions & Compliance Verification

Live test transactions are done to confirm full functionality, like:

  • Cash dispensing
  • Receipt printing
  • Network response times
  • Error handling

Then, the ADA compliance is double-checked. For New York deployments, this also includes verifying alignment with the New York Department of Financial Services applicable standards.

Staff Training & Handoff

Finally, the ATM installation is completed. Your staff receives a practical walkthrough about how to load cash, clear basic errors, read status indicators, and initiate a service call if needed. We provide direct access to our U.S.-based service team. Hence, you’re never left figuring it out alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
