ATM safety

Help stop the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) by sanitizing your ATM. If you have an ATM on your premises, don’t forget to sanitize it!

The best defense is prevention. Your ATM should be cleaned as you are deep cleaning your entire business on a regular basis. Here are some quick tips on how to properly clean your ATM to allow for proper disinfecting, and help stop the spread of the virus.

Cleaning Solution- We recommend a mild antibacterial cleaner. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes work great as they do not over-saturate electronic components. If those are not available an alcohol based antibacterial cleaner will work as well. We do not recommend anything too harsh or acidic- as that will damage the finish.

Instructions- Clean the entire outside of the ATM with the antibacterial cleanser.  Strongly emphasize customer touch points and crevasses such as keyboards, cash trays, screens and function keys.  It is important to note-  Do not over saturate electronic components such as keyboards and function keys. If over-saturated,  the cleaning solution may get into the electrical components and cause damage. It is best to spray the cleaning solution on a rag, and then wipe down these “critical” areas. Let the solution soak for up to a minute, and then wipe the ATM with a clean dry paper towel. We recommend you clean your ATM daily, since it is a customer touch point.

Add daily ATM sanitizing to part of your “deep clean” process.

We would recommend you disinfect your POS and credit card terminal with a similar daily cleaning method.
